These ratings are based on the last 12 months and ONLY include jaockeys who have had 50 rides or more. They are updated monthly.
They are calculated by assessing the horses they ride by the Tajodds price i.e. their EXPECTED win ratio, multiplied by the ACTUAL win ratio. This tells us which jockeys over and under perform and is MUCH more accurate than simply win ratio. These TAJODDS E Ratings are then converted into Kg ratings. One standard deviation from the mean will mean 1.5Kg bonus or penalty. The FREAK rider who performs 2 or 3 standard deviations from the mean can receive a MASSIVE 3.0 to 4.5Kg bonus.
